A Photographer for Your Moments and Stories: Event Photography for Speaking and Networking Events in Salt Lake City

Last week, I had the incredible opportunity to attend and photograph an inspiring event at Kiln SLC. The event featured powerhouse speakers: Heather Barbour, keynote speaker, founder, and author; Dr. Krista Anderson from Fiksal; and Melanie Jones from Utah Business. These women shared their stories of adaptability through their professional journeys, and each one brought something unique to the table. Robin Huling MC'd the event, and Kiln hosted the gathering in their beautiful space, perfect for fostering connection and learning.

As a content photographer, my role isn’t just to document an event—it’s to capture the energy, the stories, and the moments that make it special. That event, I learned from each of these women as they shared the various paths that have led them to where they are today.

One standout moment for me was when Melanie asked the audience to think about their dream job. But before we could do that, she handed out brand-new boxes of crayons and asked us to open them up. She explained how the scent of fresh crayons has been proven to help spark imagination, and suddenly the room felt more open, creative, and inspired. It's moments like this that truly highlight how much thought and care go into an event like this, and as a photographer, capturing those moments of connection and inspiration is exactly why I do what I do.

I also had the chance to take photos for Heather Barbour as she promoted her new book. Heather’s story of building her business while stepping into the author role was compelling, and it was an honor to capture her during such an important part of her journey.

Why Event Photography Matters

In today’s fast-paced world, events like these are not just gatherings; they’re moments that build community, establish authority, and create content that can be used across platforms. As a photographer, I make sure to document those key moments, so speakers, attendees, and organizers can relive and share them with their audiences. Whether it’s a speaking engagement, networking event, or launch party, every detail matters.

Event photography goes beyond just snapping a few photos—it’s about capturing the story and emotion of the day. For speakers like Heather, Krista, and Melanie, having professional photos from their events means they can continue sharing their message long after the event is over, whether through social media, blogs, or press coverage.

Why Choose a Professional Photographer for Your Event?

  1. Capture Key Moments: A professional photographer knows how to capture the highlights of an event—whether it’s an inspiring speech, a meaningful connection, or an impromptu moment that defines the event.

  2. High-Quality Images for Promotion: After an event, you'll want to share those moments with your audience. High-quality images allow you to promote the event and continue building your brand. Whether it’s for social media, marketing materials, or press releases, great photography makes all the difference.

  3. Telling Your Story: Professional event photography allows you to tell the story of your event long after it's over. For speakers and hosts, these images become a key part of building your professional journey.

If you're hosting a speaking engagement or networking event in Utah (or anywhere, really) and want to ensure those special moments are captured, let's connect. From inspiring conversations to behind-the-scenes details, I’ll make sure the event lives on through powerful, authentic images.
