New Employee Outdoor Headshots to Rock Your First Day

First Day Vibes

One of my favorite TikTokers, Allison Kuch, posted this video the other day. Her NFL husband was heading off to a new team, and he told her walking into a new locker room gives him "first day of school" vibes. Then she mentions how adorable she thinks that is.

The thing is, I think we can all agree that walking into any new job on the first day really does feel like the first day of school as a kid. There are so many unknowns! Are you going to like your new boss (teacher)? Will your co-workers be awesome (will you make new friends on the playground)? Are you going to have to sit alone at lunch (this weirdly is the same vibe at school or work)? Did your employee ID picture turn out ok (maybe this year your school picture won't suck so bad)?

What if you could put your mind at ease just a little, and start your first day with an extra dose of confidence? Let's tackle first impressions. The first impression your new coworkers may have of you very well may be a profile picture they've come across during the interview process.

Whether that's through LinkedIn, google mail, or even a good ol' social media stalking, people may be making their first impressions before you even walk through the door or jump on your first Zoom call.

What do your profile pictures say about you, and are you confident in the first impression you're creating?

Creating First-Day Confidence

Aubree had just landed a great opportunity and was about to start her first day in her new job. She received an email from her new company asking for a few housekeeping items. Among that list - a headshot to share with all employees announcing her new role.

That's where I come in. Aubree reached out to see if I could get her in immediately for some updated headshots. While her personal pictures she was using at the time were beautiful, she wanted something to match the new role she was taking on. I was able to meet up with her shortly after and capture a few options for her. With overnight turn-around, Aubree was able to confidently send an updated headshot for her upcoming introduction.

Any steps you take to feel more prepared to dominate your first day at a new job are steps in the right direction! Let's get this step going for you!
